Langfang is located in the geographic center of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration, the golden section point between Beijing and Tianjin and the center of first-tier cities of Hebei Province, namely the origin of co-ordinate system of Large Beijing urban agglomeration. The urban area is 40 kilometers away from Beijing central area, 60 kilometers away from Tianjin central area, 70 kilometers away from Beijing Capital International Airport and Tianjin Airport respectively, close to the Beijing New Airport in preparing to construct and 100 kilometers away from Tianjin Port, which formed the unique advantages relying on central cities, airports and harbor. It takes only half an hour from Langfang to Beijing or Tianjin.
Railway transportation in Langfang is very convenient. The five trunk railways of Beijing-Shanhaiguan railway, Beijing-Shanghai railway, Beijing-Kowloon railway, Datong-Qinhuangdao railway and Tianjin-Baoding railway run through it. With the opening and operation of Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, Langfang as the first station after departing from Beijing makes the journey from Langfang to Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai became very convenient. The highway traffic in Langfang is highly advanced. There are six opened expressways—Beijing-Shanghai expressway (the former Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu expressway), Beijing-Harbin expressway (the former Beijing-Shenyang expressway), Rongcheng-Wuhai expressway (the former Baoding-Tianjin expressway), Daqing-Guangzhou expressway, Langfang-Zhuozhou expressway and Langfang-Cangzhou expressway, and three under-construction expressways—Miyun-Zhuozhou Branch Line, Beijing-Taipei expressway and Langfang to its three northern counties section of Mizhou-Zhuozhou expressway to be opened to traffic soon. Five national roads (G102, G103, G104, G106, G112) and twelve provincial roads run through Langfang, which makes the urban area, counties (cities) and villages connected. The crisscross highways in Langfang lead to everywhere and have already formed a high-standard and networked traffic pattern. By the end of 2010, the length of highways opened to traffic in the entire city has totalled 9006 km and density of road net has been 140 km/100 sq. km which holds the first place in Hebei Province and is 3.5 times that of the country and has reached the level of developed countries.
